Administration

Principal Larry ParkerWelcome to the Walker-Spivey Elementary School. As the new principal I have the privilege of introducing you to our school where we will continue to maintain a tradition of excellence.

We are committed to preparing all of our students to lead happy, healthy, and productive lives.  Our goal is to have all students strive to become informed citizens who are prepared to participate in a culturally diverse society.  Our school’s priority is to provide a safe learning environment where students are supported academically, emotionally, socially, and physically to reach their full potential.

At Walker-Spivey, our dedicated and highly qualified staff uses standards-based curriculum combined with effective instructional strategies to meet the needs of our student population. We use continuous assessment and data to inform our instruction and develop learning goals for our students.

Parent and community involvement play an integral role in the success of Walker-Spivey.  Our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) works closely with staff to support and enrich our school programs.  We also work directly with outside community groups in providing our students with links to real life experiences.  At Walker-Spivey, we are proud of the commitment by our students, staff, families, and community members in making our school a place where children thrive and are given multiple opportunities for success.

Join us as we embark on this journey. Go Panthers!

Larry Parker

Assistant Principal Heather CravenWelcome to Walker-Spivey Elementary!  It is with great enthusiasm, honor, and pride that I have been given the opportunity to join the Panther family.  I am ecstatic to get to know and serve our school’s students and families.  My educational philosophy and beliefs are that all children can learn when provided with a safe, nurturing, and rigorous learning environment.  It is our job as educators to leave our students better than when they came to us. As assistant principal, I look forward to being a partner and advocate in your child’s education.  If I can assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Heather Craven
