2023-2024 School Psychologist of the Year

CCS Psychological Services announced Aisha Wilson Middleton as the school system’s 2023-2024 School Psychologist of the Year Celebration.   This is Aisha's 11th year as a school psychologist. She obtained her undergraduate degree at Winthrop University in 2009 and obtained her Masters and Specialist degrees at Francis Marion University in 2013. Unbeknownst to her at the time, she decided to become a school psychologist at the age of 2 when she was adopted and met her new big brother for the first time. Growing up with him and his diverse needs helped shape her into the psychologist and individual she is today. Her first 4 years, she served in Scotland County NC, however, she found her home here in CCS.

Since arriving in CCS, she has been fortunate to serve in the Douglas Byrd District for the past 7 school years. She enjoys working with the behavioral specialists and helping improve schoolwide behaviors by teaching and helping implement the CHAMPs classroom management program. This system has helped improve classroom management and student-teacher relationships within the Byrd district. In fact, Aisha has also delivered this presentation to various schools across the county. Her personal philosophy is: every child deserves the best education they are able to obtain and every parent/guardian deserves to be a part of and fully understand the educational needs of their child. Her goal is just to be of service to individuals with unique needs. When she is not working, she enjoys watching horror movies with her husband and child, baking cakes for her friends and completing annoying informal psychological assessments on my friends, family and pets.
